A vile predator who killed an NHS worker by repeatedly orally raping her as she lay unconscious on a park bench was today found guilty of manslaughter.

Jurors at the Old Bailey were left in tears as they saw horrific images of the vile attack carried out by Mohamed Lidow, 35.

Natalie Shotter, 37, a mother of three, had been dead for hours before being found by a passerby in Southall Park, west London, on July 17, 2021.

Lidow was roaming the park looking for women to assault and found Natalie lying on the bench.

He overstimulated the nerves at the back of her throat during the attack and caused her to go into cardiac arrest.

Ms Shotter had been dead for hours before she was found by a passerby in Southall Park, west London, on July 17, 2021.

Ms Shotter was just over five feet tall and weighed just 43kg at the time of her death, the Old Bailey heard.

Initially, police considered her death unexpected, then arrested Lidow on August 4, 2021.

The victim’s mother, cardiologist Dr Cas Shotter Weetman, criticized the Met Police after two officers allegedly told Ms Shotter’s friend there was nothing they could do to help her.

She campaigned for justice for her daughter and believes a culture of misogyny at the Met contributed to her death.

Lidow was charged with manslaughter and rape on December 21, 2023 and found guilty of both counts by a jury of eight men and four women.

Ms Shotter’s family sobbed in court as Lidow was found guilty by a unanimous verdict.

He said a few words to a supporter in the public gallery, but otherwise showed no reaction to the verdict.

The court heard Lidow had previous convictions for “online sexual offences”.

London Common Sergeant Judge Richard Marks, KC, adjourned sentencing until December 14.

Jurors wept as prosecutor Alison Morgan recounted harrowing CCTV footage.

The court heard Natalie had been drinking and taking poppers before lying down on the bench.

“At 11:41 p.m., we see her arm moving, swinging a little, she’s lying along the bench,” she said.

“Natalie is lying down and there is no indication that she suddenly fell to the ground, died, or that she was having a seizure.

“Consuming alcohol and poppers could make her lie down that way, she must have been sleepy and semi-conscious.

“The prosecution argues that even if she had consumed these substances, there was no reason for her to die before that point.

“She was very well able to lie down on this bench thanks to what she consumed.

“What was the accused doing there? What was he trying to do, walking the paths in the middle of the night?

The prosecutor added that Lidow was “looking for a woman vulnerable to rape.”

But Lidow’s lawyers argued that Lidow may not have caused the death or that Ms. Shotter had died before he met her.

Peter Glenser, KC, defending, told jurors: “There is no evidence that Ms Shotter moved after 11:41 p.m., you cannot rule out the possibility that she was dead.”

Lidow, of St Paul’s Close, Hounslow, denied rape and manslaughter.
