Cumbria Council child protection delay results in payment

Councils have a three-step complaints process that they must follow and which has specific time frames for dealing with them.

Under the guidelines, councils have 20 working days to deal with a complaint at the initial stage, 65 working days for the second and 30 working days for the third, with a decision being made within 20 days of the committee hearing .
