Footage reveals Louis Rees-Zammit in deep discussion with Roger Goodell as Jaguars travel to London – and international Super Bowl could follow

Louis Rees-Zammit could only dream of taking the field on Sunday at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

But with recent No. 1 overall draft pick Caleb Williams facing Trevor Lawrence’s Jaguars, LRZ was seen on the sidelines as Jacksonville prepared for its first of back-to-back games in London.

Rees Lightning, who is a member of the Jags’ practice squad, wasn’t just talking with a Jacksonville assistant coach or wide receiver.

The former Welsh rugby star was seen holding a one-on-one chat with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, just as the world’s richest sports league opened the door to organization of a Super Bowl outside the United States.

Rees-Zammit, who spent training camp as a member of the Kansas City Chiefs, seemed to enjoy his conversation with Goodell.

The 23-year-old smiled and pointed toward the stands, while an engaged Goodell nodded to LRZ and grabbed his arm.

Former Buffalo Bills running back Christian Wade believes Rees-Zammit could make the full jump to the NFL and play with the Jaguars during the regular season.

“He’s got everything he needs,” Wade exclusively told talkSPORT.

The NFL is hosting three of its International Series games in London for the second year in a row.

The Minnesota Vikings beat the Jets last Sunday at Tottenham, leading New York to fire Robert Saleh as head coach.

Next week, the Jaguars will host the New England Patriots at Wembley Stadium.

The NFL kicked off its 2024 season in Brazil, while games were held in Germany last year.

Ireland, Spain and Abu Dhabi could be next on the list of international gaming venues.

But what will really make the difference will be the Big Game.

Fans have wondered for years whether the NFL will hold a Super Bowl outside the United States, with London often seen as an ideal host city.

Christian Wade thinks Louis Rees-Zammit will be a success for the Jaguars in the NFL

Goodell seemed to accept this possibility when speaking with fans.

“We’ve always tried to play a Super Bowl in an NFL city,” Goodell said Saturday, according to ESPN.

“It’s always been kind of a reward for cities that have NFL franchises.

“But things change. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if that happened one day.”

The NFL dominates television audiences in the United States.

But as overall growth in the United States is no longer skyrocketing — it’s difficult for the NFL to get bigger than it already is — the league has begun to aggressively explore international games.

The league’s ultimate goal appears to be to host 16 international games per year, with all 32 NFL teams playing a home or away game outside the United States.

If LRZ stays with the Jaguars, he could also continue to return to the UK while playing in the NFL.

The Jags were once considered a serious threat to relocate their franchise to London.

Now, Jacksonville could play additional games in England while the team’s stadium is renovated.
