Nippard later took to social media to reveal that he had undergone a scan which came back clear, adding that he had no idea why he had been targeted.

“I don’t know why he attacked me, other than the fact that he really, really hates my training style,” he wrote. “I certainly gave him absolutely no reason to hate me. And even if I did, there is no excuse for physically attacking someone over a disagreement.

And many fans and followers in the fitness industry were quick to support Nippard.

“Jeff Nippard is one of, if not THE nicest guys in bodybuilding,” said one fan. “He is incredibly talented, SMART and NOT ego driven.

He has great online services to remind and teach people THEIR superpowers. What Mike Van Wyck did was cowardly.

Another view read: “There are almost no internet influencers I’ll ride for, but Jeff Nippard is an absolute gem in the fitness community and I’ve learned so much from the resources he offers and, in every way, he’s a great guy in every way. so no, we’re rolling for this one.

Another fan posted: “What could Jeff Nippard have done to get attacked…(Van Wyck) clearly didn’t agree with his workouts.”

One fan said Van Wyck had lost him as a supporter in light of the video, saying: “Damn, big Jeff Nippard fan. All over the videos/disagreements about training style.

“Huge fan of a podcast Mike is on, but this disgusts me. It’s hard to listen to it now.

Nippard suggested that Van Wyck might have had a problem with his science-based training methods.

Van Wyck had recently released his own video questioning bodybuilders who follow methods like Nippard’s – to which he responded by emphasizing why he follows these methods.

Nippard said: “My opinion is that this was the result of anger over the clip I posted yesterday in response to his question about scientific training. Pretty wild stuff.

Nippard also claimed that Van Wyck also threatened his cameraman.

“In case you haven’t seen it, that’s exactly what happened and there were many witnesses.

“Mike Van Wyck punched me in the throat twice in the middle of the gym, then shoved my cameraman.

“There is already a lie going around that Mike asked me to stay away from him, and that I didn’t listen to him and approached him first. This is FALSE and @puremuscleandfitness has security footage to prove it. I think they should release it.

So far, Van Wyck has not spoken out about the incident.
