Car theft suspect pleads guilty to multiple charges

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — A man suspected in a string of car thefts in 2023 has pleaded guilty in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court to multiple charges.

Marcus Bosworth, 20, pleaded guilty before Judge Maureen Sweeney to charges of arson, a second-degree felony; tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony; two counts of failure to comply, a third-degree felony; escape, a third-degree felony; six counts of grand larceny of a motor vehicle, a fourth-degree felony; theft, a fifth-degree felony; and criminal damage.

In another case, Bosworth pleaded guilty to a separate charge of grand theft of a motor vehicle.

Sentencing will take place following a pre-sentence investigation. Lawyers handling the case are recommending a three-year prison sentence.

Court records show several of the thefts and other crimes he is accused of occurred in March 2023.

Bosworth will remain incarcerated in the Mahoning County Jail while awaiting sentencing.
