“I thought he was just turning around

This is the moment a ‘rude’ dad tried to park his car in a stranger’s driveway during the school run.

Footage of the cheeky moment was captured on Dion Joy’s doorbell outside her home in Tameside. She said she spotted a red Toyota on the street, which she thought was making a U-turn.

But then she saw the driver pull into her driveway, before removing his seat belt and getting out of his car. Dion, 33, looked at him through the window when he then pointed to the elementary school three doors down.

The clip then captured Dion calmly telling him “no, can you leave my player please?” “. The father still tried to convince the mother of three to let him stay by mentioning his daughter, but his pleas didn’t work as Dion explained that her boyfriend was coming home to park there.

She firmly asked him to leave and told him “that’s so rude” before getting back in her car, reversing and driving away – only to park further down the street where there were vacancies. Dion described the driver as a “cheeky little girl” and said she was “a little angry” after the incident, which happened around 3:18 p.m.

The beauty salon owner said she had to start the school run herself 10 minutes later and the man allegedly blocked her car from leaving the driveway for two cars. She said that because the incident happened at her home, it stopped her from being more confrontational, but stressed that the plot “isn’t a parking lot, it’s a driveway.”

She posted the doorbell footage to TikTok last Thursday. It has since been viewed 245,000 times, with users wondering “what was he thinking?” and some told Dion she was “too polite.”

Describing the moment she saw the car, Dion said: “It was the sound of her car that made me stand up and look because it looked like it was going to fall apart. I thought he was turning around, but then he got out of the car. car and I was like “no, you cheeky little thing”.

“I was a little angry but I didn’t want to start with someone outside my home who will be there all the time. I wanted to be careful.

“He tried to explain that he was going to have his daughter as if everything was fine. It was surprising.

“I have to go to school myself, so it’s a good job I caught him when I did because he would have blocked me. I’m glad people are OK with what I said and told me I handled it very well.

“Some people said I could have left it there for a minute but it’s not a parking lot, it’s a driveway.” Dion said the school’s parking lot is small and she and her neighbors regularly face parking problems from parents who have trouble picking up their children.

The salon owner, whose children are 10, 7 and 2, said the brazen driver had not tried to park since then. She captioned the video “He stopped on my way to leave his car so he could do the school run” and it received over 1,000 comments.

One person wrote: “The worst part is if you hadn’t gone to the window to say something he would have left it there thinking it was okay.” A second said: “I get in a bad mood if someone parks outside my house on the way to school and it’s not even my property.”

A third added: “You were too polite.” Dion replied: “I agree, I was pretty docile.” A fourth said: “What was he thinking?
