The Police in Edo State have arrested two suspects for alleged conspiracy, threatening to kill and arson against one Evelyn Akpan.

The Commissioner of Police, Nemi Iwo, disclosed this on Sunday in a statement signed by Moses Yamu, Public Relations Officer of the command.

The press release made available to journalists in Benin City gives the names of the suspects: Prince Anthony Uwa (31 years old) and William Ugiagdor (38 years old).

Iwo said the arrest of the suspects followed the complaint filed by the victim on September 30, 2024, that an unknown person sent her text messages threatening to burn down her house and murder her entire family if she did not pay the sum of 1.5 naira. million.

He explained that upon receipt of the complaint, operatives of the Command, through proper intelligence, traced and arrested the suspects, who have since confessed to the crime.

Yamu called on the people of the state, especially the youth, to shun crime and criminal activities and instead seize and explore legitimate opportunities, pursue their education and develop skills that would benefit them and their families. communities.
