Trump wants CBS broadcast license revoked after footage confirms 60 Minutes edit of Harris response

Former President Trump on Thursday called CBS News’ decision to change one of Vice President Kamala Harris’ answers in a “60 Minutes” interview a “fake news scandal,” suggesting CBS should lose its license broadcast because of this affair.

“A giant fake news scam from CBS and 60 Minutes. Her REAL ANSWER WAS CRAZY, OR DUMB, so they actually REPLACED it with another answer in order to save it or, at least, make it look better. A fake news scam, which is totally illegal,” Trump wrote on X on Thursday.

“TAKE THE CBS LICENSE OFF. Election interference. She is an idiot, and the fake media wants to hide this fact. AN UNPRECEDENTED SCANDAL!!! The Democrats made them do this and should be forced to concede the election? WOW! ” he added.

The Harris campaign has denied any involvement in the decision to make the change.

“We do not control CBS’ production decisions and refer questions to CBS,” a Harris campaign aide told Fox News.

CBS News did not respond to a request for comment on the edit.

During the interview, host Bill Whitaker discussed U.S. foreign aid to Israel in its war against Hamas and said “it seems Prime Minister Netanyahu is not listening” to the United States.

In the promotional clip released by CBS on Sunday, Harris responded: “The work that we have done has resulted in a number of Israeli movements in this region, which have been strongly motivated or resulting from many things, including our advocacy for what needs to happen in the region.

In the full interview released later, Harris’ response is different.

“We are not going to stop doing what is necessary for the United States to clearly articulate its position on the need to end this war,” she said.
