Ghaziabad stepfather rapes two minor girls with mother’s support, gets arrested – The Week

A man has been arrested for allegedly raping his two minor stepdaughters with the support of his mother in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. The accused was arrested after the mother of the two teenagers filed a police complaint on Thursday.

According to the UP Police, the complainant is the second wife of the accused. She married this man after legally separating from her husband with whom she had two daughters.

In the complaint filed at Kavinagar police station, the woman accused her husband of sexually abusing her two minor daughters from his previous marriage, news agency PTI reported in a statement. She also mentioned that the man was supported by his mother for abusing the two girls over the past six months.

The woman found her husband raping her youngest child, aged 14, at their home on Wednesday. To the woman’s horror, her other daughter also revealed that the man had sexually assaulted her. Like her sister, the 16-year-old said her stepfather threatened her with dire consequences if she told anyone about the rape.

The next day, the woman came to the Kavinagar police station in Ghaziabad with a complaint. She said her mother-in-law knew her son was sexually abusing underage girls, but she supported his actions.

Confirming the development, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Kavinagar) Abhishek Srivastav told reporters that the accused was arrested by the police after filing a case against him in the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act, Srivastav said.
