Explosion rocks Turkish defense industrial complex in Ankara

Türkiye — An explosion hit the door of the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAS) headquarters near Ankara on Wednesday, Turkish media reported.

TUSAS is an engine manufacturer for the Turkish defense industry. A series of explosions and gunshots were heard during live footage published by the IHA news agency. Police and other emergency teams were dispatched to the headquarters.

Turkish television HaberTurk said the workers had taken shelter in place.

Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya called the explosion a “terrorist attack,” saying there were casualties. Yerlikaya did not provide further details.
