Filmed: Several vehicles overturn as SUV rams into them in Chennai

A speeding SUV rammed into several vehicles on the Poonamallee Expressway in Chennai on Saturday, leaving six people seriously injured. CCTV footage captured the moment the SUV hit an autorickshaw, a two-wheeler and cars parked near Egmore railway station.

The rickshaw was destroyed and its driver, three passengers, a two-wheeler commuter and a passerby were injured. They are being treated at the Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital.

Eyewitnesses chased the SUV and arrested two men, who said the driver fled the scene. The incident occurred while traffic was moving slowly and the SUV fled the scene after the crash.

Vepperi police have opened an investigation into the incident.
