Vasan had rallied around the film just before choosing to turn it off. However, despite being a female solo film and Alia’s action avatar; he failed to capitalize on the buzz. The film opened to a lukewarm response at the box office and failed to set or break any records. Moreover, it also became one of Alia Bhatt’s most mediocre films. On the failure of the film

“For me, it was always a struggle to release the film. But this time, it was obvious that the film was going to be released and in a big way. So this is a first for me, and I’m not doing it.” I don’t even know how to handle this. What I do know is that there is a certain responsibility in the general public to deliver (at the) box office,” he told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview.

Bala also added that he felt like he had let Alia Bhatt and Karan Johar down. “I feel it. I feel it deeply. I mean, they’re very supportive of me, and there’s not an ounce of letting me feel that way. It’s something I have to struggle with,” he said. added.
