“We ask everyone to refrain from spreading rumours”

New Delhi: Choreographer Remo D’Souza and his wife Lizelle D’Souza have broken their silence after a complaint was filed against them for cheating a dance troupe. Taking to their Instagram account, they released a joint statement.

The couple expressed their disappointment at the allegations being “published”. Remo and Lizelle also asked people not to “spread rumors” before knowing the full facts. The choreographer also assured fans that their side of the story would be revealed soon and that they were working closely with the authorities.

Theri’s joint statement read: “We have been informed through the media that a complaint has been registered, alleging fraud regarding a certain dance troupe. It is disheartening that such information has been published. We would like to request everyone to Refrain from spreading rumors before verifying the real facts.


“We will present our case in due course and continue to cooperate with the authorities in every way possible, as we have done thus far. We would like to thank our family, friends and fans for the outpouring of their support. love and their continued support Love always Lizelle and Remo,” we read.

PTI quoted a police official as saying that a case was registered on October 16 at Mira Road police station based on a complaint lodged by a 26-year-old dancer under sections 465 (counterfeiting), 420 (cheating) and others. relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code.

According to the FIR, the troupe was allegedly cheated between 2018 and July 2024. The troupe won a TV show and allegedly posed as if the group was theirs and claimed the prize money of Rs. 11.96 cr. Other accused in the case include Ramesh Gupta, Vinod Raut, a police officer, Omprakash Shankar Chouhan, Rohit Jadhav and Frame Production Company.
