A woman “kills” her husband with 2 accomplices and hides a CCTV video; Crime discovered by his daughter

Belagavi police on Thursday arrested a woman for the alleged murder of her husband. The matter came to light after the couple’s daughter Sanjana (18) became suspicious of the sudden death of her father Santosh Padmannanavar (47), initially attributed to a heart attack.

According to police, Santosh Padmannanavar, a resident of Anjaneya Nagar in Belagavi, initially died of natural causes on October 9. Mother Uma Padmannanavar (42) sent for Sanjana and other relatives to Bangalore, claiming that Santosh had suffered from a heart problem. attack. When they returned, the family carried out the cremation, believing his story. However, after the funeral, Sanjana began to suspect foul play.

When Sanjana asked to see the CCTV footage of their home, Uma evaded the request. The next day, Sanjana insisted, she discovered that the images from the day of her father’s death as well as those from the day before had been deleted. His suspicions grow, leading him to file a police report, questioning his mother’s involvement.

The police quickly exhumed Santosh’s body for an autopsy. The autopsy report is, however, awaited.

After further questioning of Uma, it was discovered that she had conspired to murder with two accomplices. One of the accomplices was identified as a man named Shobit from Mangalore, with whom she had developed a relationship on Facebook.

Santosh had discovered the affair and confronted Uma and Shobit, leading Uma to plan his murder. On the night of October 8, she allegedly gave Santosh sleeping pills before Shobit and his friend reached their house. Together, they smothered Santosh with a pillow, and Uma then made up the heart attack story.

Despite Uma’s attempts to erase the CCTV evidence, police managed to obtain footage from a neighbor’s camera, which helped corroborate Sanjana’s suspicions. Uma and her accomplices have been arrested and further investigation is underway.
