Liam Payne’s hotel room in Argentina raided by police after One Direction singer’s fatal fall

Liam Payne’s hotel room in Argentina has been raided by cops, looking for “new information” about employees working on the day the One Direction singer died.

As part of the operation, authorities were looking for documents in Casa Sur’s records, in addition to information stored on its computers, Us Weekly reports.

The 4-star Buenos Aires hotel “must provide” more security camera footage from October 16 – the day Payne plunged to his death at the age of 31, insiders told the outlet.

He died instantly from massive internal and external injuries and had a toxic mixture of medications in his system at the time of his death.

The search comes just a day after the singer’s heartbroken father, Geoff Payne, said he was cooperating with authorities investigating his son’s death.

The singer’s bodyguard Paul Higgins helped police review hotel security footage, alongside Payne’s father. Higgins was also seen questioning several hotel staff members.

Geoff, 66, had been warned he might have to wait up to 10 days before bringing his son’s body home.

The elder Payne has since vowed to stay with his son until he can bring him back to the UK.

The pop star’s body is being held in the morgue while officials from Argentina’s Justice Ministry continue their investigation.

The father-of-three, who shares Liam and his sisters Ruth Gibbins and Nicola Payne with wife Karen, last week visited the hotel where his son died and thanked fans for their heartfelt tributes.

Earlier this week, a preliminary autopsy report from Argentina’s prosecutor’s office revealed that Payne died from “multiple trauma” and “internal and external bleeding.”

In addition to pink cocaine, also known as Tusi — a combination of methamphetamine, ketamine and ecstasy — drugs detected in his blood during toxicology tests included benzodiazepine, crack cocaine and cocaine.

A makeshift aluminum pipe for ingesting the substances was also found nearby, ABC News reported.

Witnesses also said Payne had acted erratically in the hours before his death.

A distraught hotel manager called police in Buenos Aires shortly before his death, alerting them that a person under the influence of drugs and alcohol was ransacking the room and potentially putting his life in danger.
