A jealous woman attacked her former boyfriend and a young mum-to-be after wrongly believing they were in a relationship.

Lynn Dunn drove her car towards her former partner Alan Cook, 51, and Georgina Stead, 22, in a fit of jealousy after seeing them leaving a hotel together.

The 54-year-old spotted them in the parking lot while apparently waiting for them, where the two men tried to run away.

Dunn attacked them in a “very fast and dangerous” manner, but braked alongside Mr Cook’s van, then got out of his Skoda and dragged Miss Stead to the ground by her hair, calling her a “s** g” before leaving. .

Miss Stead, who was 22 weeks pregnant at the time, suffered whiplash, a minor concussion, abrasions to her knee and a clump of hair ripped from her scalp. She has since given birth to a daughter.

The incident happened after Dunn, of Widnes, Cheshire, believed Mr Cook was having a relationship with Miss Stead. In a Facebook post last April, she wrote: “What kind of 50 year old gets a 22 year old pregnant? Alan Cook, who’s the bastard and he’s a big piece of shit.’

A court heard Mr Cook and Miss Stead were not a couple but were staying at the Campanile Hotel in Runcorn to “support each other”.

Andrew Sinker, prosecuting, said: “On May 6, Alan Cook returned from work at around 3pm and parked his car at the Campanile Hotel. Georgina Stead, Alan Cook and another person all entered a room where they were staying.

“Georgina Stead walked down the stairs and out of the hotel. She looked to the left and noticed that Alan looked anxious, concerned about Lynn Dunn’s arrival.

The court heard Dunn’s silver Skoda turned into the car park, and Miss Stead “ran” towards the hotel entrance and told Mr Cook to run towards the underpass next to the ‘hotel.

Mr Sinker added: “Lynn Dunn sped around the corner to where Alan’s van was parked. She braked next to Alan’s van and someone ran to get staff from the hotel.

“Alan Cook was standing on the grass trying to avoid Lynn Dunn, but she got out of the car and shouted at Alan Cook and Georgina Stead and called her a**g. She said she was going to have it.

After “yelling and screaming,” Dunn got back into her car and drove it toward the two men, but slammed on the brakes and “just avoided” hitting them.

“She was afraid of crushing them.

“A member of staff came out of the hotel and Lynn Dunn was told to leave. Lynn Dune then got out of the car, walked towards Georgina Stead, looked her in the face, grabbed her by the hair and pulled her to the ground twice.

“She tore out a lock of hair while dragging it to the ground. It made her feel scared, depressed and humiliated. Lynn Dunn is gone.

Mr Sinker said Miss Stead suffered whiplash and a minor concussion. She suffered from PTSD which took a toll on her mental health. She also had a scraped knee and a tuft of hair torn out.

“There was a certain degree of planning. She waited outside for them to come out.

Dunn made no comment during the police interview. She pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm and two offenses of common assault based on “apprehension of violence”.

In mitigation, barrister Adam Antoszkiw told justices of the peace: “Ultimately it is entirely up to you to decide whether the pregnancy made someone vulnerable in the particular circumstances.

“I dare say it makes a person more cautious, but speaking from experience, I’m not sure my wife would thank me for calling her vulnerable just because she’s pregnant.”

Magistrates sent Dunn for sentencing at Chester Crown Court next month, where she could face up to two-and-a-half years under sentencing guidelines. She was released on bail and told not to contact Mr Cook or Miss Stead.
