Multi-vehicle crash closes A12 in Essex

A serious crash involving “a number of vehicles” has forced the closure of a main road, police said.

A section of the A12 near Colchester – between junction 23 at Kelvedon and junction 24 at Feering – was closed in both directions so an air ambulance could land.

Essex Police said the southbound carriageway could be reopened at around 11.45am BST.
