This Morning fans share same complaint over Cat Deeley’s awkward joke | Television and radio | Showbiz and television

This morning viewers said they “could do without” Cat Deeley’s cheeky remarks as she opened the ITV show alongside co-host Ben Shephard.

On Monday’s show, the TV presenter revealed she suffered the injury after a long bike ride over the weekend. Ben asked, “Did you have a good weekend, Cat Deeley?”

As she told him: “I did it, but my butt was a bit sore,” before quickly adding: “I was cycling on the weekend.” She started rubbing her bum, leaving her co-hosts Ben and Phil Vickery taken aback. Phil even placed his hand on his head, indicating that he had heard too much, but he laughed inwardly.

However, not everyone found the moment amusing. Many viewers took to X (formerly Twitter) to express their discomfort, reports the Mirror. One person wrote: “I could do without hearing about Cat’s sore ass damn #ThisMorning.” »

Another comment read: “Keep the show going #ThisMorning,” while a third person shared the same sentiment, adding: “I’m already sick of this shit.”

Cat’s comments were followed by host Ben, who also shared that he suffered an injury after competing in a Tough Mudder race over the weekend. Tough Mudder, the grueling endurance event known for its 10- to 12-mile obstacle courses, can leave participants with more than just a feeling of accomplishment.

Co-founded by Will Dean and Guy Livingstone, its challenges include intimidating features designed to exploit common fears such as fire, electricity, towering heights and vast bodies of water, certainly testing one’s courage of those who dare to participate.

Showing the extent of his efforts, ITV star Ben, at the request of his co-star Cat, which resulted in him cheekily conveying “you’re welcome” to fans, showcased a muscular bicep marred by a series of bruises acquired during his Tough Mudder challenge.

With a light spirit despite the obvious pain, Ben joked “it’s nothing”, regaling fans with stories of being drenched “in mud” while braving the notoriously intense course.

The charismatic presenter later mentioned a strange incident on the previous week’s show involving a “scary mirror” associated with unlucky injuries.

Pondering the possibility that his recent bruises were a curse from that encounter, he asked Cat, “I wonder if I suffered at Tough Mudder because I looked in that scary mirror last week,” Cat quickly dismissed Ben’s suspicions with a humorous retort: ”No, you do these things for fun, it’s not the mirror.”

This Morning is broadcast on ITV1, from 10am, weekdays.
