Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost welcomed members of his 2024-25 Adolescent Board of Directors with a meet-and-greet session and presentations from members of his staff.

“It always amazes me how our young people can bring new perspectives, seeing things in ways we often overlook,” Yost said. “Their ideas allow us to learn and challenge us to think differently about the issues facing our state.” »

The council, made up of 168 high school and high school students, represents about half of Ohio’s counties, including several in north-central Ohio.

Richland County’s representatives on the board are Kylie Pease-Powell, who is home-schooled, and Ja’Niyah Davis of Mansfield Senior High School.

Marion County’s representative is Pleasant High School student Landon Moore, while Ashland County is represented by Black River student Josh Adkins.

During their one-year tenure, students gain knowledge of Ohio’s legal and government operations through discussions with officials, interactive learning sessions and a variety of other activities. Additionally, board members provide input to the Attorney General’s Office on adolescent-related challenges and work together to develop solutions to important issues facing the state.
