The legal team cited a now-deleted LinkedIn post from Sofia Patel, Labor’s head of operations, which called for volunteers to support Harris’ campaign, saying nearly 100 party members had already pledged to turn out. in the United States for this purpose. “(We) will sort out your accommodation,” the message said.

Trump’s camp alleged that Labor provided “unlawful foreign election contribution and assistance” to help Harris, in violation of U.S. campaign finance laws.

Speaking to reporters as he traveled to the Commonwealth summit in Samoa, an island nation, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer sought to dismiss fears that the complaint could damage relations between the United Kingdom and the States -United if Trump returned to the White House.
