After accidentally leaving her wallet in a GetGo rental car the night of October 12, a Singapore woman discovered it had been emptied of its various cards when she returned to collect it.

Sharing her experience on Facebook group Complaint Singapore, the customer wrote that she only realized she had left her wallet in the car on the night of October 13, as she did not need it the day before.

She did find her wallet in the car, but that’s all she had left.

I came back for this

She said that when she went back to get her wallet, she found it was empty and all her cards were missing.

This included his NRIC and credit cards.

She added that GetGo was unable to help her.

Despite being told there was only one booking after hers, the company apparently was unable to contact the person.

GetGo also told him that “this is beyond their responsibility.”

She said she reported all her cards lost and blocked them.

Many commenters urged her to file a police report.

Aware of the incident

In response to MothershipWhen asked by GetGo, they said they were aware of the incident.

In this case, the user who left their wallet behind had asked GetGo to share the contact details of the person who used the car after them.

However, they “had to inform them that we could not share any of our customers’ information directly with any other user due to the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).”

“We quickly informed the user that they needed to file a police report. We also attempted to contact the next user of the vehicle to see if they had seen the items, and we are still investigating the incident internally.” , added GetGo.

GetGo explained that when personal items are forgotten in one of their vehicles, users are encouraged to contact the company immediately so it can check to see if the items have been reported lost and found.

If the items have not been reported to GetGo, users should file a police report.

In the meantime, GetGo will also try to contact the following vehicle users internally to see if they know anything about the missing items.

Once the police investigation begins, GetGo will receive a formal information order, allowing it to share necessary information with police, the company said.

“We remain ready to support the user and assist them with any further investigation with the police,” GetGo said.

“We regret the frustration that the user must be feeling and want to assure all of our users that GetGo will do everything in our power to assist them within the legal limits permitted.”
