China says detained Foxconn employees on suspicion of corruption

BEIJING: China is investigating four employees of Taiwanese tech giant Foxconn for alleged corruption and embezzlement, Beijing state media said Saturday (Oct 12), after Taipei authorities said they were arrested in “strange” circumstances.

Taiwan’s Mainland Affairs Council – its main policy agency in China – said on Friday that public security authorities in the central Chinese city of Zhengzhou had detained the employees for the amount of “abuse”. of trust” in Taiwanese law.
