Boy, 15, appears in court charged with possessing a knife in Walsall

The boy, who cannot be named, appeared at Wolverhampton Magistrates’ Court last Thursday for an initial hearing.

The case was then adjourned until November 21.

A second 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of the same offenses but has been released on bail while police carry out further investigations.

Officers have made arrests following an incident on Saturday, October 5 last year, when a boy was approached on Wolverhampton Road West and threats were made with a knife.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “We have charged a 15-year-old Walsall boy with intent to steal, witnessing bullying and possession of a knife.

“The boy, who cannot be named, appeared at Wolverhampton Magistrates’ Court last Thursday (October 10) for an initial hearing. The case was adjourned until November 21.

“A second 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of the same offenses but has been released on bail while we carry out further investigations.

“Officers have made arrests following an incident last Saturday (October 5) where a boy was approached on Wolverhampton Road West and threats were made with a knife.

“Serious violence among young people under 25 is a priority for Walsall LPA.
