Man found with BB gun accused of drug possession | News

Police made a drug arrest after someone called to complain that a man was sitting in a Tumon hotel parking lot and cleaning a gun, according to a magistrate’s complaint filed before the Superior Court.

John Anthony Flores Santos, 50, was charged Monday with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance as a third-degree felony.

At 3:37 p.m. Saturday, an employee at the Royal Orchid Hotel in Tumon called police to report that a man was sitting in a car in the parking lot and appeared to be cleaning a gun. Police located the vehicle and encountered Santos, who surrendered a BB gun, according to the complaint.

He also admitted to having a hunting knife and upon further investigation he told police he had an ice pipe which he had slipped under his legs when he saw police approaching him, the complaint states.

Santos consented to a search of the car and police found a zipper pouch containing two plastic bags and a digital scale. The pipe tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine residue and Santos told police he had purchased the drug several days earlier, according to the complaint.
