Superman actor Christopher Reeve’s children remember their ‘wonderful father’

The documentary, which will be released in November, had its UK premiere at the London Film Festival on Monday.

Alexandra Reeve Givens said: “This year is the 20th anniversary of our father’s passing, and while it wasn’t an intentional way to mark the anniversary, it just felt like the right time where we are enough to comfortable to feel ready to share this story.

“And there’s also a whole generation of people who want to know more about his life.”

The film features home videos that the family shared with the documentary’s directors, Ian Bonhôte and Peter Ettedgui.

“Reliving these experiences was incredibly powerful,” Alexandra said.

“(The film) of course tells the story of our father, (with) incredible footage of Superman from the early years there, but they also made it a much bigger story about what it means to be a family and stay together thick and thin.
