Boxer Idris Abdurashidov faces life ban after knocking out opponent with brutal headbutt

Stunning footage has been released showing an MMA fighter knocking out his opponent with an illegal head kick during a boxing match.

Undefeated Russian MMA fighter Idris Abdurashidov made his boxing debut against Iranian Bagher Faraji at the Ali Boxing Club in Phuket, Thailand on Saturday evening.

Faraji, who entered the fight as a 2-0 pro, was gaining the upper hand in proceedings heading into the fourth and final round.

He was seconds away from scoring a decisive victory when Abdurashidov uncorked a huge head kick that flattened the Iranian boxer.

Abdurashidov was disqualified for this illegal decision, but he still bragged about it on social media, even uploading a video of this shameful act.

He captioned the video: “So he made his professional boxing debut.

“And disqualification for life, that kick I threw with a machine gun!”

Abdurashidov now faces a lifetime ban from boxing, but some fans believe his punishment should be much harsher.

Reacting to the clip, one supporter posted: “He should be arrested for battery and banned from combat sports again. This is so low.”

Another wrote: “You should be banned from participating in all combat sports. »

A third added: “He should be put in jail for this.”

Meanwhile, someone else commented: “You are not a professional athlete, because you have no control over yourself, your legs and your hands.”

Abdurashidov is currently 4-0 in professional MMA and competes in leading Asian promotion ONE Championship.

It is currently unknown whether his unsportsmanlike conduct in boxing will affect his MMA career in the future.

The 21-year-old stopped Kazakbai Tilenov on his ONE FC debut last month and is a highly-rated prospect.

But his career could be over before it even gets a chance to start.

Faraji has since shared several videos of the incident on his Instagram Story, including a photo of Abdurashidov on the ground after what appears to be his own knockdown.
