Choreographer Remo D’Souza and six others accused of defrauding dance troupe of Rs 11.96 crore – Entertainment News

A case has been registered against famous choreographer Remo D’Souza, his wife Lizelle and five others in Thane district, Maharashtra, for allegedly cheating a dance troupe of Rs 11.96 crore. Police confirmed that the complaint was filed by a 26-year-old dancer at the Mira Road police station on October 16, 2024.

According to the first information report (FIR), the alleged incidents took place between 2018 and July 2024. The complainant said that his dance troupe, which participated in a popular television show, won a substantial prize. However, D’Souza and the other defendants allegedly misrepresented themselves as the legitimate representatives of the troupe and claimed the prize money for themselves.

The FIR includes charges under several sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 465 (forgery) and 420 (cheating). Others involved in the case are identified as Omprakash Shankar Chouhan, Rohit Jadhav, Vinod Raut (a police officer), Ramesh Gupta and Frame Production Company.

Authorities have opened an investigation into the matter to uncover more details about the allegations. The case received widespread media attention, reflecting the continued focus on high-profile figures in the entertainment industry.
