Shailene Woodley has long been an advocate for environmental sustainability.

At Uber’s Go-Get Zero event in London, she shared her latest ideas on sustainable living and how her daily routine has transformed.

“I spent six months in the same place this year, which is the first time I’ve done that since I was 17,” said the Killer heat star revealed.

“It turns out that just having a daily routine is very sustainable. I’m discovering for myself that when I stay in one place for a long time, I tend to eat the same thing every day. I tend to be able to eat plan more easily I do most of my own cooking.

The actress stressed the importance of supporting local economies and infrastructure.

“For me, that looks like going to farmers markets, finding a green dry cleaner and specifically asking, ‘Please don’t put plastic on my clothes and I don’t want a wire hanger, I bring some hangers for you.'”

In a conversation with Uber spokesperson Jill Hazelbaker, Woodley spoke about her environmental activism and changing attitudes in Hollywood. “For many years in Hollywood I was called a ‘tree-hugging hippie’; there are worse things to be called.”

Woodley proudly showed off her second-hand outfit, saying, “Everything except the socks I wear is second-hand. Most of my clothes are second-hand, and now there are wonderful companies like The RealReal where you can find amazing pieces and then sell them back.

She acknowledged Hollywood’s circular approach to fashion, but highlighted the industry’s broader environmental impact. “Fashion in general is a major problem. It’s a major problem when it comes to the environment, when it comes to workers; it’s all so complex.”

Reflecting on his past environmental activism, including his 2016 arrest during protests against the Dakota Access pipeline, Woodley said, “I would do it again in a heartbeat.” »
