Woman arrested by armed Gardaí after man’s death

A woman has been arrested as part of an armed operation involving Gardaí (Irish police) following the death of a 30-year-old man in County Carlow.

The man was found seriously injured and unconscious when officers responded to an incident at New Oak Estate in Carlow town after 11:40 p.m. local time on Monday.

He was treated at the scene before being transported to St Luke’s Hospital in Kilkenny where he was pronounced dead.

Shortly afterwards, a woman was arrested in Carlow town as part of a follow-up operation involving local Gardaí and the Armed Response Unit (ASU).
