Telangana youth blackmailed, Rs 5 lakh extorted

A case of blackmail and extortion of Rs 5 lakh from a Telangana-based youth has been reported in the state capital. The Sukhi Sewania police registered an FIR against the woman following the victim’s complaint of blackmail, use of abusive language and threatening to kill.

The accused woman extorted money from the complainant by threatening to implicate him in a rape case. She demanded five lakh rupees more. When she did not give it, she filed a rape complaint at the Chhola Mandir police station.

The complainant had filed a private complaint for blackmail with the court. The court had ordered an investigation into the matter. After investigation, the Sukhi Sewania police registered an FIR. Police began searching for the accused woman.

According to the Sukhi Sewania police, the 27-year-old hails from Telangana. He lives in a colony in Sukhi Sewania, Bhopal. A complaint was filed by him in court against the 32-year-old woman. According to the complaint, the accused woman was previously a contract employee in his office where they became friends.

One day they both went to watch a movie. On January 1, 2020, both went to the Bhojpur temple where the girl proposed to him. He said yes, but until then he did not know that the girl was already married. After some time, he went to meet her at her house where he learned that the girlfriend was already married and also had a child from that marriage.

As soon as the young man learned that his girlfriend was already married, he stopped all communication. Due to this, arguments started between the two and later the girl forced him to marry her. She threatened to kill him if he didn’t agree. and also ruin his career. Through intimidation, he extorted Rs 5.35 lakh in part. The money was transferred online. The complainant provided evidence of threatening messages on WhatsApp and online money transfers. After which the police registered an FIR.

The complainant continued to harass her and upon demanding more money, the victim said he had no money and would pay once his salary arrived. In this regard, the accused abused her on WhatsApp. A few days later, a case of rape was registered against him at Chhola Mandir police station.

The woman filed a rape complaint against the young man, a complainant in the blackmail case, in May this year. In the FIR, she accused the young man of sexually assaulting her in the bedroom after lulling her to sleep with a cold drink during an acquaintance’s wedding. Evidence was presented in court on behalf of the complainant that he was in his district in Telangana ten days before the date of the FIR. Proof of this was provided by the complainant.

Suresh Chandra Nagar, in-charge of Chola Mandir police station, said following the 32-year-old victim’s complaint, an FIR was registered against the 27-year-old accused in May. The accused in our case lived in the Sukhi Sewania area. He was arrested and sent to prison. The challan was also presented in the case.

The victim’s lawyer Yawar Khan said the case would serve as an example in society and strict action should be taken against the accused for the atrocities committed against real women. An FIR for extortion has been registered on the direction of the court against those who are commercially misusing this women’s law.
