Misinformation around Haryana Assembly elections, Israel and more

A video containing several images showing blood-covered bodies on the ground with onlookers standing around is being shared on social media platforms.

The audio from the clip claims that in the middle of the night, a group of 15 to 20 people, including women and children, arrived armed and brutally murdered people. The message also recommends that individuals refrain from opening the door and spreading this message as much as they can.

The truth: The footage featured in the viral video is from an incident in June 2023, in which eight family members were attacked in Kishani area of ​​Mainpuri, resulting in the tragic loss of six lives.

• The attacker, a family member, is believed to have committed suicide following the murders.

• Additionally, the audio in the video is from a 2019 news report broadcast by a local channel in Uttar Pradesh and has been wrongly linked to the Kishani case.
