OFW set to return overseas stabbed to death by jealous partner

BACOLOD CITY – A 32-year-old overseas Filipino worker (OFW) who was scheduled to return abroad next week was allegedly stabbed to death by her jealous partner in Hacienda Paz, Barangay Canlandog, Murcia, Negros Occidental, Wednesday, October 19 . 16.

Police Major Sherwin Fernandez, Murcia police chief, said the couple were involved in a heated argument at the home on Tuesday evening (October 15).

Their altercation continued the next day, when the 39-year-old suspect became enraged and stabbed the victim multiple times with a screwdriver.

His mother, aged 58, tried to calm them down, but she was also stabbed by the suspect in the right leg.

The victim was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Fernandez said the couple often argued because of the suspect’s jealousy.

The suspect fled and was arrested in a sugar cane field. He is facing a murder case. The murder weapon was recovered from the suspect.
