Devin Walker left The Challenge: Battle of the Eras much earlier than expected, and even though he said the best man won by elimination, he still called his opponent “overrated.”

The Ride or Dies winner was sent to the final elimination as he was one of two targets on his team alongside friend and ally Tori Deal.

Daily Challenge winner Rachel Robinson consulted her classmates, including Laurel Stucky, to determine which players to send. Tori and Devin took on two Era 4 beasts, former winner of the show Kaycee Clark and rising star Kyland Young.

However, the elimination involved untangling various wires to extend cables and cords to a board and plugging them in.

The first contestant to light up all 40 logos from the different seasons of The Challenge won the event.

Devin fought mightily as his opponent quickly sent the former winner home.

Devin explained why he thinks Kyland is ‘overrated’ on The Challenge

During an appearance on Golden Derby, Devin answered a question about castmates being bullied by Kyland because of his skills.

“I think Kyland is overrated. That’s what I felt from the start. I know people are afraid because they’re afraid of skills they don’t have. A lot of people don’t have Kyland’s skills, mainly because they don’t care,” he said.

Devin said Kyland studied a lot by watching previous seasons of The Challenge and treated the game as “something you can control.” However, Devin said this isn’t always helpful, because it’s impossible to control MTV’s competing show.

“Yes, he has a chance. I don’t think he has the X factor, personally. I don’t think he has the intangibles, and I don’t think Kyland’s style will translate into multiple different seasons of The Challenge, and each season is a new version. Even though it’s complete, it’s predictable,” Devin said.

Devin Reacted to Bananas’ Plan for Season 40 Against Him and Michele

During Battle of the Eras, Devin and fellow castmate Michele Fitzgerald began enjoying a showmance. This caused Johnny Bananas to try to sow doubt in Michele’s mind about Devin’s intentions with her.

Devin was upset by his comrade’s attempt to drive a wedge between him and Michele, calling out Bananas during one episode.

When asked if that was part of Bananas’ “mind games,” Devin said “part of it was jealousy.”

“Part of it was that I didn’t take the bait on a trick he tried to pull. And so when he realized I didn’t take the bait, he had to find a reason to try to separate Michele and I,” he said.

Devin said one episode showed footage of Bananas telling fellow castmate Jenny West that he needed to “break this off”, referring to the strong bond between Devin and Michele.

When asked about his relationship with Michele after filming season 40, Devin called the former Survivor winner his “official girlfriend” and said they planned to spend Thanksgiving with Michele’s family at his house.

The Challenge: Battle of the Eras airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on MTV.
