Ms Tipawan Komanee, 36, calls for help after her son was seriously injured in a hit-and-run accident involving a black sedan that cut him off while he was riding his motorbike.

PATTAYA, Thailand – A mother is seeking help after her 16-year-old son Ithichet Pengjan, 16, was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash involving a black sedan that cut him off while he was riding his motorcycle.

According to Ms Tipawan, on October 12, her son was on his way to pick up his pregnant daughter-in-law who was working in Pattaya. As he rode his motorbike nearly a U-turn in front of Soi Banglamung 29, a black sedan, captured on CCTV, was parked in the leftmost lane and suddenly crossed the street to make a U-turn. Her son, who was driving straight ahead, collided with the driver’s side door, leaving him stuck in the wreck before slowly collapsing onto the road. Surprisingly, the driver didn’t even stop to check on the injured boy and instead speeded off without thinking, showing complete disregard for the injured victim.

The young victim suffered multiple serious injuries, including a broken face and arm, and his mother said their medical costs have already reached around 30,000 baht. The family has been forced to borrow money to cover the costs, and the boy will need further surgery, adding to his financial burden.

Despite obtaining CCTV footage of the incident, police struggled to identify the hit-and-run driver due to blurry images of the car’s number plate. Ms Tipawan expressed frustration with the police investigation, saying she could only help him to the extent that it provided him with leads.

She is urgently calling on anyone who witnessed the accident or recorded it on a dashcam to come forward with evidence. Additionally, she implores the driver responsible for the accident to turn himself in to authorities.

The accident happened on October 12, when the 16-year-old boy was on his way to pick up his pregnant stepdaughter in Pattaya, and the driver fled the scene without offering help.
