Man arrested in Thane for raping minor girl

When some family members inquired about the crime, the accused dismissed the information as a false allegation by his daughter, the official said.

Three months ago, the family moved to Shil-Phata in Thane, where the man allegedly raped his daughter again several times, he said.

The victim went to the police on Sunday and filed a complaint.

Based on the complaint, the police on Sunday registered a case against the accused for rape and other charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act, the official said.

An investigation was underway into this matter.
