With Gail Platt’s (Helen Worth) exit imminent, Coronation Street will throw a few more curveballs at the family next week.

David (Jack P Shepherd) believes he is responsible for his mother’s heart attack and Jesse (John Thomson) waits for answers.

Several secrets are held by those involved in the situation, but an announcement follows that leaves the family in shock.

Elsewhere, the car accident that damaged Joel Deering’s vehicle throws another clue for DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers).

But soon she’s in the spotlight herself when her daughter Betsy (Sydney Martin) begins to wonder if her mother could be the killer.

However, Lisa isn’t the only one hiding her true movements on that fateful night.

What was Carla Connor (Alison King) really doing?

Sunday October 27

As the Platts gather at Gail’s hospital bedside, tensions run high as David feels responsible. When Jesse questions David, he answers him.

When Shona reveals that Jesse returned to #8 alone, David panics. Damon calls Sarah and explains that although he got a beating, he blamed one of Harvey’s associates for stealing the money, leaving them in the clear.

Relief turns to sadness for Sarah when Damon says they need to cut off all contact and ends the call. Sarah informs Jesse that Damon has confirmed that she is no longer okay with Harvey and apologizes for ever suspecting him.

She tells Mason and is shocked when he says Joel was killed on the 27th. When Daisy mentions that Joel got into a fight the night he was killed, Betsy is shaken.
