Tension grips Kummariguda in Secunderabad as unknown persons vandalize the idol

Hyderabad: Tension prevailed at Kummariguda near the Clock Tower in Secunderabad when unidentified people vandalized the idol of Goddess Sri Muthyalamma early on Monday.

A person wearing a white kurtha and a cap was seen kicking the main gate of the temple before entering inside in the footage from surveillance cameras installed in the premises. Having learned of the incident, a large number of people came to the temple.

Residents of Kummariguda raised slogans demanding that police take stern action against those responsible for the incident. Using CCTV footage, the police must identify the culprits at the earliest and punish them severely.

Union Coal Minister G Kishan Reddy also visited the temple and inquired about the incident. He spoke to North Zone Deputy Commissioner of Police Rashmi Perumal and asked her to expedite the investigation.

Former minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Secunderabad cantonment MP N Sriganesh and other politicians visited the temple. The police department has deployed additional police force to prevent any untoward incident in the locality.
