Man arrested in FD for shooting at vehicle | News, Sports, Jobs

A man who fired into an occupied vehicle last year, hitting it with at least one bullet, now faces criminal charges.

Fort Dodge police arrested Angelo J. Rickert, 55, of Temple, Georgia, and charged him with intimidation with a dangerous weapon, intentional and reckless use of a firearm, criminal damage to property , according to criminal complaints filed against him.

According to these complaints, the shooting occurred at 1:58 a.m. on September 23, 2023, at the intersection of First Avenue North and 13th Street. Police reported Rickert shot at a vehicle occupied by the driver and a passenger. A bullet shattered the car’s rear window and pierced the driver’s side rear headrest.

Rickert waived his right to a preliminary hearing, meaning the case against him will proceed to an arraignment and trial.

Magistrate Sarah J. Livingston issued a restraining order prohibiting Rickert from contacting the driver of the vehicle. He would risk being arrested if he did so.
