Body found dismembered in a house; cooked body parts found in kitchen, police say

MT. OLIVET, Ky. (WXIX/Gray News) – Authorities in Kentucky say they are investigating after a worker discovered a woman’s body parts behind a home earlier this week.

Kentucky State Police said they were called to the home by a man who said he was working on the property Wednesday afternoon.

Police say the worker went looking for the owner the same day after there was no answer at the door.

The man told police he noticed drag marks in the grass that led him to find a dismembered body behind the house.

The arms, legs and head were all removed from the woman’s body, authorities said.

After an investigation, Kentucky State Police announced Thursday that Torilena May Fields, 32, was arrested in connection with the crime.

Police say Fields was found with blood on herself when she was kicked out of the home after refusing to come out.

Police said the worker also told them he saw the victim and Fields the day before while checking the property for needed work.

According to the citation, officers said they found several body parts and organs inside a folded mattress while checking the property.

They also found what appeared to be human body parts cooked in a hot pot in the kitchen oven.

Additionally, state police said the worker told them Fields appeared to be casting spells and was confrontational during his visit Tuesday.

Fields is currently being held at the Bourbon County Detention Center and faces several charges, including obstructing government operations, tampering with physical evidence and abuse of a corpse.

She is due in court on October 14.

The identity of the deceased woman was not immediately released.
