Man arrested for stalking and harassment of minor girl in Thane | Thane News

THANE: A 30-year-old man was arrested for stalk and harass a 11 year old girl in Thane district, Maharashtra, on Tuesday.
The accused allegedly followed the girl several times while she was returning from school and tried to catch her, pushing her into an auto rickshaw.
According to police, “the man also threatened to harm the girl if she informed anyone of the offense.”
The girl’s mother reported the incident to police on Sunday, leading to the man’s arrest.
The accused has been charged under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including sections 74 (assault or use of criminal force on woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 75 (sexual assault harassment), 78 (harassment), 351(2) (criminal intimidation) and the provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.
