Passenger left hanging on CTU bus: driver and conductor suspended

The UT Department of Transportation has suspended a bus driver and conductor for irresponsible behavior endangering the life of a passenger.

The department received video of the incident as well as a complaint from the passenger, who claimed he was hanging on the door of the moving bus, but neither the driver stopped the bus nor the driver opened the door.

The complainant said he was waiting at Hallomajra bus stop to go to his office in CTU bus number 85. When a bus (CH01-GA-5367) arrived, the driver and conductor did not allow him to board. As he tried to get on the bus, they closed the door, leaving him outside for about a kilometer.

The ministry said the passenger’s life was in danger and he could have been seriously injured. Consequently, driver Karamveer and conductor Binu Rani have been suspended and discharged from service with immediate effect. Both worked as subcontractors.
