An illegal channel for transporting rebels abroad has been closed in Transcarpathia

In Zakarpattia (Transcarpathia), authorities have dismantled a channel for the illegal transportation of men of military age to Hungary.

The Zakarpattia regional prosecutor’s office reported this on Telegram, cited by Ukrinform.

“Under the procedural control of the Uzhhorod district prosecutor’s office, another illegal channel of transportation of military conscripts to EU countries has been eliminated,” the message said.

On October 11, in the Uzhhorod district, law enforcement arrested three individuals who were trying to smuggle a man into Hungary for a fee. As part of the criminal investigation carried out under Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the detainees will soon be officially charged.

The suspects include two Chop residents and a foreign national. One of the local residents was responsible for organizing the illegal transport, while his accomplices acted as guides, accompanying the “client” to the border area.

The cost of these services would be USD 6,000 per person.

The operation was carried out by prosecutors together with investigators from the Uzhhorod district police and officers from the Chop border detachment.
