Authorities respond to swamp fire near Utica

UTICA, Wis. (WBAY) – Authorities are currently responding to a swamp fire near the city of Utica.

UPDATE: Photos sent by an Action 2 News crew on scene show the fire appears to have been much smaller. Authorities have yet to release any further information.

The Swamp Fire in Utica, Wisconsin has subsided(WBAY)

A message from the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office is asking people to avoid the area of County Highway M and Sportsman Road due to what they are calling a large swamp fire.

They say the wind carries the smell of smoke to Oshkosh, and residents in the comments section report embers and ashes being blown into their yards.
