2 fifth graders injured after falling from float during homecoming parade in north Alabama

Two fifth graders were taken to the hospital Thursday evening after falling from the float they were on during a homecoming parade in north Alabama, authorities said.

Collinsville School students were injured when they fell from the float during the Collinsville Homecoming Parade, Collinsville Police Chief Andy Brown said.

The students were transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment in non-life threatening conditions, the chief said.

“Please pray for these children and their families because this was a scary situation for everyone involved,” Brown said.
