Repeat drug dealer arrested in Bertie County

BERTIE COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – Authorities say a man is back in custody Friday after selling drugs in Bertie County.

The Bertie County Sheriff’s Office said Demesso Gatling, 30, of Lewiston, was arrested again for felony possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine.

They say Lt. R. Dozier and Deputy J. Jenkins stopped a vehicle for speeding and upon contact with the driver, they smelled marijuana.

Police say during a search of the vehicle they found more than 3 grams of powder cocaine, more than 2 grams of crack cocaine and 32 grams of marijuana.

Authorities say Gatling faces several charges, including PWISD Cocaine, possession of marijuana and speeding.
