Ratan Tata has played an important role in transforming the Indian automobile industry through his unique ideas and leadership.

Indian tech CEOs and entrepreneurs paid tribute to the legend Ratan Tatadied Wednesday evening at the age of 86. A notable legacy has been left by the former chairman of the Tata Group, who is well known for his enormous contributions to the Indian industry. Prominent members of the technology community expressed their respect and admiration for Tata in heartfelt remarks. These included former Xiaomi CEO Manu Kumar Jain, People Group CEO Anupam Mittal, Ola founder and CEO Bhavish Aggarwal, Paytm CEO. Vijay Shekhar Sharmaand CEO of BharatPe Ashneer Grover.

While many tributes were received positively, Vijay Shekhar Sharma’s post attracted criticism on social media. The Paytm CEO had to withdraw his comment after receiving criticism. A screenshot of his deleted tribute has since gone viral on X, shared by user Shivam Sourav Jha. In his original post, Sharma wrote, “A legend that will inspire every generation. Next generation entrepreneurs will miss interacting with India’s most humble businessman. Hi Sir. Ok Tata Bye Bye .”

The latest statement, “Ok Tata Bye Bye”, attracted widespread criticism, with many users expressing their disapproval. “Intern se likhwaya hoga,” one user wrote, implying that the text may not have been well written. One person said: “Never miss an opportunity to make the news,” and another said: “This is inappropriate.”

Meanwhile, business leaders, politicians and celebrities joined hundreds of people on Thursday to bid a final farewell to one of India’s most respected and internationally recognized business leaders, Ratan Tata.

The last rites were performed at Worli Crematorium in Mumbai with full state honors in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, his cabinet colleague Piyush Goyal, Maharashtra Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde, his deputy Devendra Fadnavis and Congress leader and former chief minister Sushilkumar Shinde.

Family and friends as well as senior officials of the Tata group joined the ceremony where Mumbai Police paid tribute to Tata with a gun salute.

Tata, the former chairman of the Tata Group who transformed a strong group into India’s largest and most influential conglomerate through a series of eye-catching deals, breathed his last at South Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital at 11:30 p.m. on October 9.

Maharashtra along with half a dozen other states declared a day of mourning while some official programs, including a press conference planned by Goyal during his visit to the United States, were canceled in his honor.
