Rep. Molinaro Unintentionally Posts Support for a 9/11 Conspiracy Theorist, Then Deletes It

First-term Hudson Valley Republican Rep. Marc Molinaro unintentionally posted a video supporting an influencer who promoted 9/11 conspiracy theories — before deleting the post this week.

Molinaro posted a video supporting Alexandra Davis on X on October 10, in which she also trashed her Democratic rival, Josh Riley.

Little did he know that Davis, a self-described “conspiracy realist” with 24,700 followers on Instagram, had raised eyebrows for peddling conspiracy theories about the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

On his account, Davis reposted a statement on September 12, 2022, from a major general who said: “I saw a missile hit the Pentagon, not a plane” – when the hijackers actually planned American Airlines Flight 77 over the Pentagon.

Davis then posted: “It’s definitely not a fun rabbit hole to go down, but it’s an important one. Once you start, you won’t see the world the same way.

She also said that 9/11 was “not a random event” and said the collapse of the 47-story 7th World Trade Center building would have been “virtually impossible to achieve without explosives and other accelerants.”

“Thousands of thousands of engineers, fire specialists and scientists say the same thing. 911 was not a random event…” Davis said on September 13, 2022.

7 The World Trade was not hit by a hijacked plane but collapsed after catching fire.

Asked Tuesday about Molinaro’s posting of the video supporting Davis, a campaign spokesperson said, “We were not aware of it (Davis’ 9/11 conspiracies) and simply removed it.” . »

“She was supportive of the campaign and she sent us a video,” the spokesperson said.

Davis was not immediately available for comment.
