Drugs and weapons found, 4 suspects arrested during execution of arrest warrant in Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Four people were arrested on various charges after the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and the United States Marshal Service executed an arrest warrant in Jefferson County on October 11, 2024.

The warrant was executed in the 200 block of 67th Place North in Birmingham.

During the arrests, authorities say probable cause for a search warrant was discovered.

That’s when authorities said they seized eight firearms and 48 grams of crack cocaine, marijuana, tramadol and methamphetamine.

The suspects were identified as follows:

Curtis Deangelo Pelt, 33, is charged with drug trafficking and will have to post $100,000 bail. Pelt is released on bail.

Caroline Elizabet Medley, 46, is charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to appear and misdemeanor failure to appear without bail.

Savannah Tyler Dagenais, 32, is charged with drug trafficking without bail.

Giovanni Austin, 43, is charged with misdemeanor failure to appear without bail.

“Continued collaboration between our detectives and our federal law enforcement partners is greatly needed. It is essential to get drugs and weapons off the streets. They work hard to keep the citizens of Jefferson County safe,” said Sheriff Mark Pettway.
