Six weeks after the announcement of the shocking and tragic deaths of brothers Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau, the investigation into this crime is still ongoing and authorities have new information.

NHL superstar Johnny Gaudreau, 31, and Matthew, 29, were both killed by a suspected drunk driver who hit them while they were riding their bikes home in their New Jersey hometown. The couple were at home celebrating their sisters’ wedding which was planned for the next day, unfortunately it never took place for obvious reasons.

Details about Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau revealed

New Jersey State Police said Sean Higgins, 43, was the third car behind the brothers around 8 p.m. when he tried to pass the other two vehicles on the left.

One of the vehicles, an SUV closest to the brothers, began moving to the left to make room for the brothers. New Jersey police and prosecutors said Higgins accelerated around the SUV on the right, hitting the Gaudreau brothers, both of whom died at the scene.

At the crime scene, drunk driver Sean Higgins told authorities he had consumed “5 to 6 beers,” but it is now confirmed that his blood alcohol level was over the legal limit of 0.08%. more precisely 0.087%. .

Sean Higgins’ wife reveals more details

Sean Higgins’ wife Flynn revealed he started drinking at home around 3pm and became upset and aggressive following a phone call. He got in his car, left his house and drove in his Jeep Grand Cherokee on a two-hour phone call with a friend.

She further revealed that her husband was no stranger to driving recklessly and aggressively.

Higgins, whose wife also told investigators that he frequently drove aggressively, tailgated the vehicle directly in front of him, backing up and slowing down, then approaching again at a high rate of speed before passing on the left, said Flynn.

A judge said the confidential 911 call could be made public, but that seems highly unlikely since the Gaudreau family wants to keep those details private. Sean Higgins is due in court in early November. He faces two counts of vehicular homicide, as well as several traffic violations.
