TikTok recently removed a staggering 78,827,465 videos for violating its Community Guidelines, according to the platform’s Q2 2024 Community Guidelines Enforcement Report. Of these, 144,430,133 videos were removed automatically, highlighting TikTok’s reliance on cutting-edge technology to quickly identify and remove harmful content.

In Pakistan alone, TikTok removed more than 30,709,744 videos during the last reporting period, as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen content moderation and improve user safety.

An impressive 99.5% of removed videos were proactively removed before users reported, and 97% were removed within just 24 hours of posting, demonstrating TikTok’s commitment to ‘a secure user experience.

The report provides transparency on TikTok’s approach to content moderation, particularly in Pakistan, where the platform continues to prioritize its automated moderation technology. With a proactive detection rate of 98.2%, TikTok was able to effectively combat harmful content before it reached users. Additionally, the report highlights a 50% decrease in the number of videos restored after deletion, increasing the accuracy of TikTok’s moderation systems.

As TikTok invests more in moderation technologies, the goal is to maintain a safer digital environment for its global community, promoting the safety and transparency of the platform.
